Sticks & stones brake bones/words break souls

When I stared this blog I was determined to speak about things that not many want to speak about. I wanted to create a place where people could find solutions, ideas, be inspired, encouraged and empowered.  As time went on, it has become a lot more than that.  I've had readers from all walks of life inbox me and open their hearts.  FGAL has taken a life of its own; much more so than what I could've imagined.

I won't tell you that I haven't had opposition, because I have.  Everything from, are you sure you want to put yourself out there like that? I don't think you should talk about that, it's too controversial and on and on.... Lol But when I weigh out the pros and the cons.... Helping someone change their life for the better always wins; at whatever cost.

That being said, this weeks topic has helped some brave men & women open up; as they have or are still enduring the pain of verbal & emotional abuse.  Many of the topics I choose are suggested by readers; this one included.  If ever you find that a topic is too offensive,  please remember that someone else needs to hear it.  We are not all called to preach from altars, but we are all called to heal the broken hearted.

On the list of suggestions are: Pornagraphy, alcohol abuse, homosexuality, sex before marriage, cyber sex, boundaries in marriage, married but flirting..... Lord help me! I think I will need bodyguards if I take on all of these! I pray that God will continue to guide me because I am well aware that this is not a great way to gain friends... Haha

Sadly, this tells us that there aren't many people talking about it nor offering hope or solutions. I'm no expert in anything! But I guarantee you that if there is a need, I will find a way to fill it.  So please keep praying for FGAL for the demand is getting greater.

So, I wanted to end this week's topic by posting this video that speaks louder than words.  We can look away all we want but the reality is, there are people among us that are hurting.  If we could provide a seed of hope, a simple list towards helping them recognize that they need help, and a few words of encourgement letting them know that they are not alone; then that's what we should do.

I advice you that this video has strong content.  It is a christian video, however, its raw and realistic in its portrail of verbal abuse.  Although, when you think about it, we are exposed to a lot worse in movies, facebook and magazines.

I received this video to share with you
